About
BeardedDad Photography was born out of two of the most pivotal moments in my life - the passing of my father in 2014 and my divorce in 2020 after a 20-year marriage. Both events shook me deeply, and I found myself needing an outlet - not just to heal, but to rediscover who I was. I wasn't comfortable with therapy or talking about my emotions, so I turned inward, and eventually toward two hobbies my dad loved. The first was music, I taught myself to play the guitar, and through that, I started to express emotions I couldn't put into words. But something was still missing - I wanted to push myself further, to break out of my introvert shell and reconnect with people in a meaningful way. That's when I picked up my dad's camera. Photography came more than a hobby - it became a form of therapy, expression, and connection. It gave me purpose. With every photo I took, I found myself engaging with people, telling their stories, and capturing fleeting moments that often go unnoticed. One moment that truly solidified my passion was at my dad's funeral. As we prepared a photo collage to celebrate his life. I realized something painful - I wasn't in many of the photos. My shyness over the years had kept me in the background. That moment stuck with me. I made it my mission to ensure that others don't go through life unseen the way I had. That's why, with BeardedDad Photography, I strive to capture every candid laugh, every quiet glance, every powerful memory - so no one is left out of the frame.
